ABOUT THE COMPETITION

Drone Obstacle (Falcon Strike) is a skill-based drone navigation competition in which participants pilot their custom quadcopters through a series of obstacles within a designated course.

The event consists of 5 progressive difficulty levels, with 2 obstacles at each level, making a total of 10 obstacles. Two identical courses operate simultaneously, allowing two participants to fly at the same time!

🎯 5 PROGRESSIVE DIFFICULTY LEVELS (10 OBSTACLES TOTAL)

LEVEL 1 • OBSTACLES 1 & 2

Basic Control

Basic movement, take-off & landing, straight-line navigation, altitude hold & obstacle awareness.

LEVEL 2 • OBSTACLES 3 & 4

Direction Change

Controlled directional changes, turning accuracy, left/right slalom navigation.

LEVEL 3 • OBSTACLES 5 & 6

Precision Navigation

Precise positioning, narrow passages, altitude control & hand-eye coordination.

LEVEL 4 • OBSTACLES 7 & 8

Advanced Navigation

Complex navigation patterns, multi-directional changes & high-speed control.

LEVEL 5 • OBSTACLES 9 & 10

Expert Challenge

High-precision control, complex obstacle sequences, split-second tactical decisions.

👥 Team Requirements & Format

  • Participation: Individual or Team (1 to 3 Members).
  • Multiple Teams: Each college/institute can enter multiple separate teams.
  • Designated Pilot: 1 official pilot per run; teammates assist with prep only.
  • Entry Fee: ₹499 per Team.

Phase 1: Reporting & Pre-Flight Technical Inspection

Reporting at Football Ground Arena. Registration verification, document check (College ID, Govt ID, NOC), physical safety inspection (frame, motors, props, batteries, FC, prop guards), functional check & failsafe test.

08:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Phase 2: Simultaneous Dual-Course Timed Runs (Levels 1 to 5)

Pilots navigate 10 obstacles across 5 difficulty levels on two identical simultaneous courses. Timed runs recorded with penalty second adjustments.

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Phase 3: Tie-Breaking Runs & Finals

In case of identical final times, tie-breaking criteria evaluated (fewer penalties → fewer bypasses → deciding run).

12:30 PM – 01:00 PM

Phase 4: Leaderboard Finalization & Winner Ceremony

Final results declared based on Lowest Valid Final Time (Final Time = Actual Completion Time + Penalty Time) and Air Master Trophy awarded.

🛸 DRONE HARDWARE SPECIFICATIONS

  • Max Motor-to-Motor Size: 5 inches diagonal max.
  • Max Propeller Size: 10 inches max.
  • Max Take-Off Weight: 2 kg maximum.
  • Max Number of Motors: 4 motors maximum (Quadcopter).
  • Assembly & Control: Only assembled drones permitted. Drones MUST be manually controlled by the registered pilot throughout the run.
  • No Autonomous Flight: Fully autonomous or pre-programmed flight is STRICTLY NOT PERMITTED.

Final Result Formula: Final Time = Actual Completion Time + Penalty Time

🔋 BATTERY REPLACEMENT & EQUIPMENT MANDATES

  • Battery Swaps: Maximum of 2 battery replacement attempts permitted during an official run.
  • Designated Swap Area: Battery replacement must be performed strictly in the designated pit area.
  • Timer Continuance: The timer WILL CONTINUE running during battery replacements.
  • Participant Equipment: Participants MUST bring their own drone, controller/transmitter, flight batteries, compatible charger, cables/adapters, FPV goggles/display (if applicable), spare propellers, basic repair tools, and any necessary smartphone/tablet/laptop.
  • Organizers Provide: Two complete obstacle course setups, designated flying corridor arena, and charging extension board points.
  • Mandatory Verification Documents: Valid College Student ID, Government Photo ID (Aadhaar / Voter ID / Passport), and College Approval Letter / NOC.
